In the verdant hills of Rwanda's western province, in Rutsiro district, Nzungize Keza Anita tended to the legacy of her family with unwavering pride. She is a third-generation coffee farmer, inheriting the responsibility from her grandfather who had established Nkora Coffee in 1947 under the decree of King Mutara III Rudahigwa. Nestled amidst 4,800 coffee trees, stood as a testament to her family's deep-rooted connection to the land and its rich coffee heritage.
Joining COOPAC was a pivotal moment for Keza. It not only provided access to premium markets but also imparted invaluable training in advanced farming techniques. Under its guidance, Keza honed her skills in producing high-quality coffee, enhancing both the flavor profile and productivity of her harvests.
Keza's dedication bore fruit. Her coffee beans became sought after for their exceptional quality and ethical sourcing. They proudly carried the legacy connecting drinkers worldwide to Rwanda's rich coffee culture. As she stood amidst her thriving plantation, Keza felt a profound sense of gratitude to God who blessed her with a lineage of hard workers with a vision which had paved the way for her success. With each cup brewed from her beans, she continued to honor her family's legacy and contribute to the vibrant coffee community of Rutsiro district.
